銀行經理雅各值班時遇到火力兇猛且精通行內規矩的匪徒搶劫後逃逸，由於搶匪手段高明使雅各被警方認為是內賊，之後雅各因搶案導致失眠，於是鄰居前警探詹姆斯協助追查搶匪。兩人發覺包含此案及搶匪先前犯行二案都有跡可循，因此推斷出搶匪的下一個目標，接著雅各找到搶匪蓋布瑞爾的祕密基地，跟蹤到打劫運鈔車時通知警方卻在圍捕讓蓋布瑞爾逃走。不久蓋布瑞爾綁架雅各的妻女威脅就範，於是詹姆斯找兩位夥伴暗中救援，當雅各與蓋布瑞爾互相槍擊時，兩位夥伴救回其妻女，接著詹姆斯出擊擊斃蓋布瑞爾，最終雅各一家團聚。...
